Williamsburg has a well established nightlife scene with nightclubs and electronic performances stacking the books every weekend.
Schimanski, one of the newer venues in the neighborhood, isn’t stopping at the end of Saturday night. They’re keeping it going with the second week of Daft Brunch, which brings the party to Sunday brunch. Both rooms of the beautiful reclaimed warehouse will be taken over by the brunch party that lasts into the early evening so you can dance away the Sunday pre-work blues.
The DJ this weekend is JD Samson (Le Tigre / PAT). JD will be joined by PRTMNTO & Jamie Antonelli, playing French house, disco house, and plenty of Daft Punk of course.
Daft Brunch isn’t the only show expected to pack the dance floor this weekend. Gracing the DJ booth Friday and Saturday night are Djebali and Rahaan. Djebali is a French producer who has been responsible for no less than reviving the entire Parisian nightlife scene. A large portion of his tracks are on his own label Djebali. Rahaan is a Chicago native ‘DJ’s DJ’ who’s been releasing disco and electrohouse beats since the 1980s.
Upcoming artists for Schimanski include huge names like Guti, Kerri Chandler, Jeremy Olander, and Detroit Swindle. You can see the full calendar line-up for the venue here.
While you’re there, keep an eye out for this fun detail. Sprinkled throughout the bar are portraits of Horst Schimanski, a detective from the 1980s German crime show Tatort, who is the bar’s namesake.
Schimanski is located on 54 N 11th St, Brooklyn, NY 11249.
