What happens when you’ve got a good thing going? If you’re OctFest, you make it even better. And so: OctFest 2018
The October and Pitchfork collaboration that became the first OctFest was so successful, you know they had to bring it back this year. OctFest 2018 is moving to Governors Island, the wildly popular off-shore city park, for a late-summer outdoor music and beer spectacular and it’s taking place on not one, but two days this year.
Let’s talk music first. The 20 artists announced so far include such headliners as Vince Staples, The Flaming Lips, Yo La Tengo, and CHIC. Of course, there are more to come as well.
The beer selection so far has more than 90 breweries participating, from all corners of the U.S., including many local favorites, as well as some international brews to choose from. Here’s just a taste of what’s on tap: Circa (Brooklyn, NY), Bronx (Bronx, NY), Blue Point (Patchogue, NY), Braven (Brooklyn, NY), Elysian (Seattle, WA), Goose Island (Chicago, IL), Jolly Pumpkin (Dexter, MI), Firestone Walker (Paso Robles, CA), Flying Dog (Frederick, MD), Collective Arts (Hamilton, Ontario) Bira 91 (India), Aktien (Germany), and Radeberger (Germany).
There are two-day and one-day tickets still available but act fast, because if last year’s runaway popularity and this year’s subsequent growth are any indication, this event is one to be at.
