You may know Mako as the Los Angeles-based duo of Alex Seaver and Logan Light. However, following Light’s departure from the group, Mako is now the sole responsibility of Seaver. And so the coming months will be somewhat of a reintroduction of the group and a reorientation of their sound into his own image.
This past December, we got a glimpse of what that might look like with Mako’s first single as a solo act, “Breathe.”
It’s hard to judge based on one song, but it seems Mako is headed now in a bold new direction. The new single features more pop-oriented beats and really features the vocals more heavily than before.
Of course, for fans this was just a taste of what’s to come after far too long without new music from Mako. Seaver is out now doing shows as the new Mako, so if you can’t wait for more, you got to go to a show.
Mako is now out on his Breathe Tour. It’s an all new Mako and you won’t want to miss seeing it before everyone else. Embrace Presents is bringing Mako to his Canadian fans in Toronto on January 26th at Velvet Underground.
