It started in 2013 with a debut EP called Ballroom Riots.
That teaser of a sound was enough to turn heads across the hip hop world to this Peruvian-American rapper, A. CHAL. And then nothing. As old fans and new were left playing those seven songs on repeat, A. CHAL himself kept them waiting.
Suddenly in 2015, there was an unassuming and entirely unexpected social media drop, and we were off to the races again. The new songs kept coming and they were better than ever with world-renown collaborators like Oliver El-Khatib and A$AP Rocky. It all culminated in the long-awaited first full album Welcome to GAZI, which featured the single “Round Whippin’,” a sensation on streaming and radio.
Since then, A. CHAL has firmly cemented his place as a rising artist in the hip hop world. He’s been traveling and performing around the country at festivals and joining tours. He’s even released another album already, this past June ON GAZ. His next stop is in Atlanta at Aisle 5 this Tuesday, August 29th. You won’t want to miss it.
