Who’s pumped for Tax Day?!?! No? Well, at least there’s New Music Friday to get you ready for the weekend. We can all agree on that, right?

Let’s do this!

Splashh – Waiting a Lifetime

This is the soundtrack of your next dream. Fuzzy backgrounds and even fuzzier vocals make this feel like you’re listening in a cloud and it’s glorious. In their second album, they’re definitely taking their sound up a level and they even dive into some techno-driven tracks, specifically “Look Down to Turn Away.”

Novembers Doom – Hamartia

The definition of Hamartia is “a fatal flaw leading to the downfall of a tragic hero or heroine” and for an album mixed of heavy, doom, and death metal, it’s very fitting. Every song has an incredible amount of different layers. Favorites from me are “Devils Light” and “Zephyr.”

Leslie Mendelson – Love and Murder

The New York singer/songwriter is back after an eight year break between albums, but that doesn’t mean she was taking a break. And in this one, you’re getting brand new songs by her, as well as a few you’re going to recognize from Dylan, Orbison, and Jimmy Newman.

The String Cheese Incident – Believe

Your favorite jam band is back! But I’ve gotta say, this album feels like a jump into much heavier songwriting and a little less jam band. In no way is this a bad thing, and you’ll still feel the old school jam on tracks like “Beautiful” and “Sweet Spot,” but it’s definitely showing signs that the band is evolving and growing.

Sam Outlaw – Tenderheart

Outlaws are just looking for love and Sam is no different. This is a country album at its core, but at the end of the day, it’s focused around beautiful singing and songwriting. The strongest support of this is in the opening track, “Everyone’s Looking for Home.”

IshDARR – Four the Better

This guy is on fire right now. Just got off a tour with THEY, got a role alongside Matthew McConaughey in White Boy Rick, and another EP. He put this six track together while on tour and you’re going to love the evolution of his rapping throughout; especially in “Mucho Mango.”

Little Dragon – Season High

The dance music four-piece is back and they’re releasing the kraken on this one. Especially on the 90s video game track “Sweet.” With an incredible mix of that well known 80s and 90s dance feel, the whole album is just pure fun. The first track “Celebrate” is my fav on the album.

Lovely.The.Band – Broken

Mitchy Collins from the band Oh Honey is leading up a new project and their first single “Broken,” just hit the airwaves. If the rest of the songs on their soon to be released album sound anything like this, I have a feeling we’ll be hearing a lot about these guys.
