Hygge (pronounced hue-gah) is a Danish word that is a feeling or mood that comes taking genuine pleasure in making ordinary, every day moments more meaningful, beautiful or special.
And ah, tis’ the season to do so. The season for stocking up on copious amounts of food, bundling up in our favorite blankets, and wisely choosing that one party a month to trek out to in the snow. Regardless of your denomination or preference, winter is a time to feel this so-called hygge. Whether it be with our loved ones, our family members, our pets, or our favorite bartender, there’s no denying winter is the ultimate time to bust out all the songs, memories, and whisky that make us feel warm.
