New Music Friday saw a ton of single releases this week, along with a few albums that make this week an overall success for new music.

Here’s the albums you should give a listen.

Quinn XCII – From Michigan With Love

This sophomore album addresses mental health in a way that is very much in line with Quinn XCII’s previous sound, peppering in sweet rhythms and catchy melodies.

Chaka Khan – Hello Happiness

This is Chaka Khan’s first album in over a decade, and is surprisingly up to date with modern singles. She’s somehow created an album encasing several genres at once; there’s touches of disco, R&B, and funk.

Tourist – Everyday

Everyday does not disappoint! This album is straight minimalist dreamy electro, and you’ll love every minute of it.

SWMRS – Berkeley’s On Fire

Kerrang summed it up best; SWMRS is “A lovable blend of no-fucks-given attitude, punk rock spirit and sheer coolness. There’s both a gritty edge and a hooky immediacy to the eccentric songs that make up Berkeley’s On Fire.”

Betty Who – Betty

Betty Who, Australian dancepop icon, has done it again. This album is jam packed with all the synthpop you could ask for, with the swagger only a couple albums under your belt can bring.

HOMESHAKE – Helium

Indie pop and Indie R&B find a home on HOMESHAKE’s newest album. The album is ethereal, woozy, ambient take on bedroom indie.
