With only a few albums released in 2019 so far, it’s easy to give them all a listen this New Music Friday. Here’s a quick run down of some albums released this week.
Chrome Sparks – Be On Fire
With the announcement of his new tour, Chrome Sparks has released Be on Fire as his follow up to his self titled debut EP earlier in 2018. This dreamy electronic EP ranges from soulful, lo-fi synth filled singles to a slowed down trap beat, tied together with hazy vocals. If you’ve seen Flume, Bonobo, or Odesza live, you’ll more than likely be excited for this EP.
T-Rextasy – Prehysteria
T-Rextasy has releases Prehysteria as the follow up sophomore album to Jurassic Punk. The album somehow blends pop punk with indie punk and a bit of 90s ska, aiming to “excavate what it means to navigate the world as a queer woman in 2019.”
Dermot Kennedy – Dermot Kennedy
Irish singer songwriter Dermot Kennedy is strongly rooted in contemporary folk, but somehow bends genres with his slight hip hop influences. His newest self titled album came out on the heels of the announcement that he will be performing at Coachella this year.
Lizzo – Juice
Here’s a quick little bonus single for Lizzo fans who have been waiting for her next dance hit since “Boys.”
