Texas Music Fest headliner Roger Creager

If you head down to Friendswood, you’ll find a three-year-old music festival that’s rapidly becoming that city’s marquee event.

The Texas Music Fest is happening again this year on March 3rd. The first edition of the festival attracted around 3,000 people to the parking lot at the corner of FM 518 and FM 2351. The following year, they saw a small boost in numbers despite a torrential downpour on the day of the festival. If the weather cooperates this year, that bodes well for the growth of the music festival.

The festival itself is organized by a community group that wanted an anchor event on the calendar that would attract people to the revitalizing downtown of Friendswood, a suburb that lies between Houston and Galveston, TX.

“The founders decided that if they could have an event every year, have it in the downtown area, and bring people in to have a good time, that would be a really good goal,” Karolyn Gephart of the Friends of Downtown Friendswood Association told the Houston Chronicle.

The one-day festival also goes out of its way to highlight Texas artists. This year, the headliner is Corpus Christi-born country singer Roger Creager. Other highlights of the lineup include Zane WilliamsBri BagwellTwo Tons of Steel, and Saints Eleven.

The festival will run from 12 PM until 9 PM on March 3rd, 2018 at the corner of FM 518 and FM 2351 in Friendswood, TX. Tickets are on sale now at Friends of Downtown Friendswood Association’s website.
