On July 20th Levitt Pavilion Denver, a nonprofit amphitheater located in Ruby Hill Park, is set to open. The scaleable 7,500-person venue plans to host 50 free concerts of all types of genres a year. This will be the first and only free cultural venue in Denver, working closely with local emerging talent and vendors.
Supporting the local music community is very important in this day in age, especially with the rising costs in tickets and the major corporate power players taking over the scene. Levitt Pavilion’s mission is to pay emerging Colorado based musicians above the typical local scale and dedicating half of the concerts to local artists to create a platform for discovery.
Denver’s own Slim Cessna’s Auto Club will play the inaugural show as a part of its Colorado Music Series, followed by The Stone Foxes on July 23rd.
This is a very exciting time for the Colorado music scene and we’re interested to see how this will change the landscape of bookings with the venue going toe to toe with the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater.
