A year ago last July, one of the most deadly attacks on law enforcement since September 11 occurred in Dallas when five police officers lost their lives (and 12 were shot) in a sniper ambush by Micah Xavier Johnson.

While the shooting was speculated to be racially motivated, the subsequent music festival Dallas Strong Music Festival is simply focused on honoring those who have fallen in the line of duty. Two thirds of the festival’s profits will go towards the charity Angels of America’s Fallen, which aims to assist children left behind by late parents lost while serving the country.

According to Billboard, the Dallas Strong Music Festival is being developed by Pacific Event Group, an LLC Zak Chaouki established in hopes of making this an annual festival.

The festival will occur May 25th through 27th, 2018 at the 95,000 capacity Cotton Bowl stadium in Dallas. The lineup has not yet been announced but will have a little bit of everything, including pop, rock, hip-hop, and country.
