Do not let “Broccoli City” deter you from this one! Unless you were at one of the previous five annual festivals, then you may have read the name Broccoli City Music Festival and moved on. It’s worth digging deeper though. Not only is this festival all about building up a thriving community in DC and beyond, but the musical acts hitting it are insane.

This year’s got Migos, the hip-hop trio behind “Bad and Boujee,” taking the stage with Cardi B and Miguel. Daniel Caesar, H.E.R., Nipsey Hussle, Rich The Kid, Lightshow, Grits & Biscuits, and Hoodcelebrity will also grace the stage.

The festival is also dedicated to help bring about more sustainable communities, both environmentally and economically. They primarily do so through education and social impact campaigns, which serve to highlight solutions to the twin issues of climate change and systemic poverty.

If you’re looking for a hip-hop, trap, and soul music festival before summer comes and got too many options to choose from, this is the perfect festival for you. Prepare for things to kick off on April 28th at RFK Stadium (Lot 6) and last from about noon to 10 PM. There will also be food, art, panels, fitness, a marketplace, and above all, culture.
