You can always count on the end and beginning of a year to bring a plethora of lists. Whether they are resolutions, bests and worsts, or retrospectives, we know there will always be a roundup of best acts, albums, and songs from the previous year. These lists, although nice to read about and listen to, have become somewhat oversaturated and keep us from looking forward to the new year.
What’s even better than a “best of *previous year*” list, is a list of up-and-coming artists that are starting to slip over the radar (so to speak). It’s like a game; you pick the artists you think are going to have a successful year, you watch that artist grow month to month, and you end up creating quite a connection with the ones you chose.
Bonus: this puts you in a position to see all the artists play live, before they fly beyond the radar, into the stratosphere, and all of their shows end up selling out.
Last week, BBC Sound of Music released their 2017 Longlist for the year. Take a look though the complete lists of artists, and tune in to the playlist below.
Catch One of the Artists
One of the artists, Jorja Smith, will be at Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco on January 27th, 2017. If you’re in the area, now would be a great time to experience the talents while it’s still very personal. If you are a Jukely member, you can grab a spot once the show opens up.
Check out her video to “Where Did I Go?” below.
If you happen to be in the Chicago area, you can catch The Japanese House play at Bottom Lounge, Saturday, February 25th, 2017 at 7:30PM. Grab a spot on Jukely when it becomes available, and until then, get lost in her video for her track “Clean” below.
Jukely is a concert club that provides members with access to concert guestlists for just $25 per month, no additional fees. Go to a concert every month, every week, or every day – it’s up to you!
