XOYO has long been a destination for East London club-goers. It’s served as a a platform for up-and-coming artists to gain more exposure in the London club scene.
The club has pioneered an innovative model where it awards residencies on a season by season basis. For each artist chosen, they will play every Friday for three months, exposing visitors to some of the best artists in the world and allowing them to see them evolve over a period of time.
XOYO is two rooms over two floors, and one of the club regulars though, Artwork, was candid about one of the spaces, “XOYO’s Room 2 is shit.”
The club decided to let Artwork redesign the space, which he did as he said in a statement, “I made it better.”
By better, he means XOYO upgraded and repositioned its PA system, as well as adjusted the intensity of the lighting to create a more tasteful, muted experience in the room.
