This Saturday, June 24th marks the 23rd annual Westword Music Showcase at the Golden Triangle. Headlining this year are Shakey Graves, The Revivalists, Cut Copy, Bob Moses, COIN, A R I Z O N A, and another 200+ local bands on the lineup. Ticket holders can enjoy a full day of music across 12 venues and countless food and beverage vendor options.
The beauty of this showcase is Westword has continuously worked closely with the local community and influencers to create the best experience possible. This year they’ve partnered up with Youth on Record, a Denver-based, nonprofit, social justice organization that helps teens in some of Denver’s most vulnerable communities to make life choices that positively impact their future by offering them a creative outlet.
In 2015, the organization opened up the Youth Media Studio in the La Alma neighborhood. This state-of-the-art recording studio allows kids to learn the basics and the core fundamentals of music production, helping them to stay inspired and become leaders in today’s society.
We can’t forget to note; Westword Music Showcase will be donating a portion of their proceeds to the nonprofit. So get your tickets and support the local youth in becoming the next big star!
