There are days when you cannot keep your eyes open and all you want to do is go to sleep. Today is not one of those days. Today, you are in bed staring angrily at the ceiling wishing you could fall asleep, but you can’t.

Thankfully, they do studies to help with this kinda thing!

According to sleep.org, it should take somewhere between 10–20 minutes to fall asleep. If you’re out as soon as your head hits the pillow, you’re probably not getting enough sleep (or you’re just lucky) and if it’s taking you longer, your body may be trying to tell you something. It could be as simple as you’re sleeping too much (again, lucky).

If neither above are the case and you think it’s stress or anxiety or you just need something to help you on your way, the good people at Mindlab International have found one song that reduces overall anxiety up to 65% and will increase usual physiological resting rates up to 35%.

Marconi Union’s “Weightless” is normally an eight minute song, but for those of you looking for something a lil’ longer to guide you into dreamland we’ve got the ten hour track.

Lastly, don’t get me wrong. Music is extremely personal. So, if you need Metallica to calm down before bed because you listen to some crazy Swedish hardcore all day at work, this might not be your cup of tea. For the rest of us, it might just do the trick.

Sleep well and if you have any other songs to fall asleep to, tell me about them on Twitter!
