Hello, I feel like you and I should have a quick talk. You look tired. Not to mean bad, just tired. You should take the night off and go see a show.

And I know what you’re saying, you’ve got too much to do, too much to worry about, too much blah blah blah, but I’ve got seven reasons you deserve a night out. I dare you to read the seven below and tell me I’m wrong.

It’s always something, isn’t it? No matter if it’s your boss, co-workers, or that one client who just does not understand “reply all etiquette,” your job alone should give you a reason to go out. The best part? Music makes you more productive at work! The link there is all about listening to music AT work, but don’t forget about the positive effects of going AFTER (everything from the workout you get dancing to the mental escape you get from not thinking about the job for a little bit).

Sometimes, and I mean that sincerely, only SOMETIMES, your partner can kinda be a little bit of a tiny pain in the butt. Can’t they?

I mean, not MY partner… honey? Not you! Babe? Nothing? Ugh…

Anyway, I’m gonna go out on a limb here but taking your significant other to a show will almost always bring you together. And even if you go to the show apart, you’ll come home still pumped up and excited. What partner doesn’t love to see a happy, refreshed person come home to them?

Phil Dunphy, Modern FamilyFamily.
Mom pressuring you to get married? Dad telling you to save all your money? Grandma asking for the thirteenth time this month what happened to your ex Karen, the one with the job, and those delicious cookies from that one time at Thanksgiving four years ago? SHE’S NOT COMING BACK NANA!

Sorry… What I meant to say is, “Let it all slip away.” A show lets you get out all the stress and melt into those sweet sweet tunes.

Kevin Hart doesn't want to be your friendFriends.
Shows bring out the best in people. Think about the last time you had a night out with a friend. It was awesome, wasn’t it? If you’re getting along swimmingly, or one of your friends is being a jerk, a show is the best place to go and rock out together (or synth out, or polka out, you do you).

Think about a friend you’re a teensy bit annoyed with. Now imagine they texted you and said, “Wanna come to a show tonight? Brews on me.” Tell me that you wouldn’t go and that it wouldn’t squash whatever was stressing you out. At least for the time that you’re at the show.

Most friendly arguments can be put to sleep with a good show.

tiny claps from Zach GalifianakisPolitics.
With everything going on in the US and North Korea and… well, all over the place, I could easily dive in here, but alas, this post is more about a good time than any of that. I won’t even make a tiny joke in the meme to the left, only a cute GIF of Zach Galifianakis because he’s incredible.

But yeah, go to a show and push aside politics. Music’s one of the only things on the planet that can bring anyone from anywhere together.

Weather.
It’s not about whether it’s good or bad (see what I did there?), it’s just a popular topic of discussion. But it brings up many a good point.

If it’s too hot, go to a show. Too cold, hit up a show. Raining, it’s not raining inside at the show. And more importantly, you no longer have to have small talk about the weather if you have sweet tunes blasted into your brain.

That’s right, live music even stops small talk. What can’t it do?

Jesse from Breaking Bad understanding scienceScience.
Finally, this one is a no-brainer. We did a piece a while back on the straight up scientifical fact that going out to a show is good for you.

No joking, read it here.

So if nothing else above makes sense, the reason you deserve a night out to hit up a show is science.

So… now that you have the facts, get out there and see a show!

You deserve it.
