Indie dance rocker duo SOFI TUKKER has debuted a boisterous single “Fuck They” alongside their upcoming fall tour dates with ODESZA.
Co-penned by Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters and Jon Hume of Evermore, the song is rife with defiance and confidence.
“‘They’ is anything that holds you back from being who you are,” the group explained. “Whoever ‘they’ is in your life or in your mind, Fuck They! Who’s they anyway?”
Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern, the two halves that make SOFI TUKKER whole, elaborated on the track’s origins in an exclusive for W Magazine, tipping off fans that the track is a sign of things to come. “The next group of songs we’ve been working on definitely have a cheekier edge,” Sophie told W. “They’re sassier.”

This new track strikes the same chord as another recent offering from SOFI TUKKER, “Greed”, which they released on President’s Day earlier this year — and quite intentionally, to hear them tell it.
SOFI TUKKER will perform at mega-festivals Panorama, Outside Lands, and Lollapalooza in addition to joining ODESZA’s “A Moment Apart” tour, which kicks off at Los Angeles’ Staples Center in October. Full dates are below.
