Hailing from Moscow, Pompeya is a band with true talents in bringing new and old sounds to the indie-pop scene. Over the years, they’ve developed their sound around influences from disco, new wave, and indie rock.
The album that put them on the map is no doubt their release of Tropical. Re-issued in 2013, this gave Pompeya a fresh new boost in the US. With this release, they also put out a remix LP which led to their first encounter with Fred Falke on his remix of the single “90.”
Right off the bat this was a match made in heaven; so much so that their upcoming EP is a joint collaboration project with the French house producer.
